Spicy Tuna Sandwich
Tired of a plain ‘ole tuna sandwich with mayo? Well, I have a spicy tuna sandwich recipe to kick it up a notch. My spicy tuna sandwich recipe consists of a sauce made of mayo, Sriracha, and sesame oil. This sauce is just so delicious because of the spice from the Sriracha and bold toasty flavor of the sesame oil. Not to mention the addition of cheddar cheese, which makes any sandwich melt in your mouth.
This spicy mayo sauce goes great with other sandwiches, salads and poke. If you do not have mayo and Sriracha readily available in your fridge, many grocery stores sell ready made Sriracha Mayo Sauce in a bottle. If it’s more convenient, go ahead and purchase the Sriracha mayo bottle. Purchase it here on Amazon.
I love making spicy tuna sandwiches because they are light, and make a wonderful meal for a lunch or a snack. Plus, the omega-3 from the tuna is great for your health and heart.
Directions
Start preparing the spicy tuna sandwich by opening a can of tuna. Make sure to drain the canned tuna well. If you don’t, the sriracha mayo sauce will get watery when you mix the sauce and tuna together.
Mix together the Sriracha, mayo and sesame oil. If you purchased the Sriracha sauce, put in 3 tablespoons of the Sriracha Mayo and then add in the sesame oil. Next, mix together the tuna and the sauce.
Toast the bread in a small pan and place the cheese on top until the bread is golden brown.
After the bread and cheese are ready, Place half of the tuna mixture on one side of the bread and make your sandwich. Repeat the above steps to make your second sandwich.
You’re now ready to eat your spicy tuna sandwich!
