Seafood Udon Recipe
This seafood udon recipe is a stir-fry recipe. What’s great about udon is you can eat it dry or in a soup. If you’re not already familiar, udon is a type of Japanese thick noodle made of wheat flour. Udon noodles are so soft and chewy!
My seafood udon recipe is a blend of Asian flavors, using kimchi sauce, oyster sauce, Sriracha sauce, and soy sauce. I just love adding spice to a noodle dish using either kimchi or sriracha sauce. These sauces are essentials in the kitchen, especially if you love cooking Asian food. With this seafood udon recipe, you can cook up a quick and delicious meal in minutes. Directions
Start by boiling the udon noodles for 1 minute to 2 minutes to soften them up. Use pre-packaged fresh udon noodles. The pre-package udon brand I used is Myojo Udon. One package is one serving. Because this recipe is 3 servings. I used 3 packages of the Myojo Udon brand. Costco also sells fresh pre-package udon noodles. The Myojo Udon package comes with the sauce seasoning, but you can toss those out since it will not be used for the recipe.
Cut your shrimp balls into quarters. If you’re allergic to shrimp or don’t like shrimp, you can use use fish balls. They work well with this dish too. Next, take the imitation crab and and cut them into smaller pieces.
Heat a pan on medium heat and add a tablespoon of cooking oil. Add the shrimp balls, imitation crab and carrots. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
Next, place the udon noodles in the pan. Then add all the sauces: soy sauce, oyster sauce, kimchi sauce, and Sriracha sauce. If you’re wondering what brand of kimichi sauce I use, I use Ajumma Republic Kimchi Sauce. When you’re done adding the sauces, mix and stir-fry everything together for a few minutes.
Add the basil. You can use either regular basil or Thai basil. I have used both and they both taste very good with the seafood udon recipe. After, turn off the heat. And your seafood udon noodles are ready to eat!
