Poh pia tod is Thai egg rolls! Egg rolls are prevalent in many Asian appetizers and that includes Thai appetizers. It is super easy to make so I invite you to try my recipe! My recipe is simple and consists of ground pork, egg, carrots, onions, oyster sauce, and soy sauce. You don’t need many ingredients to make poh pia tod because the most simple recipes are the best! The best part about it is the crispy texture of the wrapper after deep frying. Imagine the crunch of the poh pia tod as you bite into it, you will love it! Enough babbling, let’s start egg rolling!!!

DIRECTIONS
Mix together the ground pork, egg, carrots, onions and oyster sauce, and soy sauce. I have used both organic and regular pork to cook egg rolls. If you want a more delicious egg roll, go with organic pork! There is definitely a difference in quality and taste!
Wrapping Poh Pia
Crack an egg and place in a bowl. You will use the egg to spread around the egg roll wrapper edges to help seal and roll the egg roll.
Take a wrapper, place on a flat surface. Spread mixed egg around the edges of the wrapper. Angle one of the wrapper corners toward you.
Take the filling and place it in the middle. Take the corner closest to you and fold over the filling. Then, take the left and right corners and fold. It should now look like an envelope. Slowly and tightly roll the wrapper over.
Frying Poh Pia
Fill half a pot with vegetable oil or enough to submerge the egg roll. Let the oil heat for a few minutes. With a wooden utensil, dip it in the oil. If oil bubbles around the wood, the oil is ready for frying.
Take a deep fryer spoon, place egg rolls on it and lower spoon into the oil. Cook until golden brown.
Place paper towels on a plate. Lay cooked egg rolls on paper towel to drain excess oil.
