Baked Furikake Salmon Recipe

This Baked Furikake Salmon is a delicious dish fusing together Asian and American tastes. The main ingredients in this dish are mayonnaise and furikake. Furikake is a seasoning sprinkled on rice, fish and vegetables and consists of sesame, seaweed, sugar and salt. Living in Hawaii, Baked Furikake Salmon is popular dish found at parties and social gatherings.

I was always curious as to how it was made. It looked so simple and yummy. My aunt gave me some pointers on how to make it. I also asked other people how they made their Baked Furikake Salmon. After hearing what others had to say, I combined their suggestions into my own Baked Furikake Salmon Recipe.

DIRECTIONS

For this Baked Furikake Salmon recipe, you will need 1 pound of salmon, olive oil, light mayonnaise, lemon or lemon juice, soy sauce, lupchong and Furikake seasoning. Depending on your preference you can choose regular mayonnaise, but for this recipe I will be using light mayonnaise. There are so many kinds of Furikake Seasoning to purchase, and it is a great seasoning to have in your pantry. For those who are not familiar with lupchong, lupchong is a Chinese style sausage.

Begin by marinating the salmon with soy sauce, lemon juice, and olive oil. Let it marinate in the fridge for 30 mins.

As you wait for the salmon to marinate, cut the lupchong into slices and mix the mayonnaise and lupchong together.

After the salmon has marinated, place the salmon on a baking pan.  I used foil on top of the baking pan for an easier clean up. But if you decide not to use foil, make sure to grease the pan before placing the salmon on it.  Take the lupchong and mayo mixture and spread evenly on the salmon surface.

Next, sprinkle furikake all over the top of the salmon. I did not specify a measurement for the furikake because you can add as much as you like as long as it covers the entire salmon.
