5 Best Money Saving Apps
Check out the following 5 best money saving apps for food. These apps are easy to use, and are the 5 best apps I frequently use and recommend! Remember to always use them when you shop. Be patient and you are guaranteed cash back!
1. TARGET
Download the Target App, which is available for both Androids and iPhones. Cartwheel was a separate app, but merged with the Target App recently. After downloading and creating a Target account, the home screen will show “cartwheel by category.” Click on that selection and you will be taken to the cartwheel offers. With the Target Cartwheel, you scan a product using the app, and it will let you know if there are offers for the product. The offers may be store coupons and/or manufacturer’s coupons. If no offers are available, related products with discounts or coupons will show. If you don’t want to scan the product, you can search for the desired item in the app to check if there are offers for the product before you visit the store.
You can also use this app and stack it with other physical coupons. The cartwheel offers can be used more than once until it expires. For example, if you used a cartwheel offer for Market Pantry oatmeal, that offer can be used on your next visit. I also have a Target Redcard, which provides an additional 5% off the total purchase. So I use the Target Cartwheel app in combination with the Target Redcard for more savings. You have the choice to apply for a Target Redcard credit card or debit card.
2. SAFEWAY/ALBERTSONS/VONS
Safeway, Albertsons, and Vons are operated under the same company and each of these stores have a store app. These stores have a savings program called “Just for You”. Be sure to sign up to be a club card member or you will not be able to qualify for the savings program. Once you download the app and create an account for one of these stores, you search and select coupons for desired items. Once a coupon is selected, it will be loaded onto your card. At checkout, the coupons will be applied to your purchases. I have the Safeway Just For You app. The one thing that I like about the app is the personalized deals category. If you purchase an item frequently, there will be special offers related to what you buy frequently. The personalized deals will provide an offer for an item that will be cheaper than what is offered at the store. I will also receive weekly coupons that will give me a discount off the total purchase. For example, $5.00 off $25.00 or more, $3.00 off $20.00 or more or $3.00 off $40.00 or more purchase. Coupons can only be used once and can’t be stacked.
3. WALMART
Download the Walmart App and create an account. With the Walmart Savings Catcher app, you scan your Walmart receipt after making a purchase. The receipt is uploaded onto the app, and Walmart searches other competitor stores to see if the item or items purchased are cheaper. The app will notify you in a few days if there has been a lower price for the item(s) you purchased. If there is a lower price, you will be rewarded money back and that amount will be recorded under you “Total Reward Dollars”. There is no minimum needed to redeem the cash. When you are ready to redeem the money, go to “Reward Dollars” and slide the button to the right, which is next to “Auto-reedem to Walmart Pay.” The amount will be shown under Walmart Pay. When you are ready to pay, place the square over the QR code on the card reader during checkout. Whatever amount you get back with the Savings Catcher is always a good catch. Savings is Savings! I’ve redeemed my cash back several times already!
4. SHOPKICK
Shopkick offers kick points for select items at various stores such as Walgreens, Walmart, Costco, or Sam’s Club. Scan the barcode of products that are listed on the app while shopping at a store and you will earn kick points. If you purchase a product from a store and it is listed on the app, scan your receipt and you will receive kick points. You can also earn walk-in points for entering a store. Earn kicks online by purchasing items online, viewing an item online and visiting a site online. For example, I can earn 1 kick by visiting the Ebay site or I can earn 1 kick by viewing a water bottle listing on Ebay. You can redeem your points for different gift cards from Walmart, Amazon, Target, or Starbucks . You will need about 1,250 kick points to redeem a $5.00 gift card. It is a slow process attempting to earn kick points, but it’s possible. I have been able to redeem some gift cards already.
5. IBOTTA
Download the Ibotta app and create an account. Once you register for an account, you can begin receiving cash back! Select your favorite stores and then browse through rebates for select items and add them to your account. When you purchase these items at the store, scan the receipt. The receipt is needed to verify your purchase. Once verification is competed, the cash rebate will be added to your account. Complete bonuses and tasks to receive additional cash back! I like the Ibotta app the best! It’s fun hunting for cash rebates and the cash does not take long to be added to your account! A $20.00 minimum is needed to withdraw your money. The good thing is you have 7 days to submit a receipt. If you forget to search for rebates on an item, you have 7 days to do so. When you reach $20.00, you can either redeem the cash for gift cards or transfer the money to your PayPal Account.
